Welcome to

Srebrenik

They say three queens competed to build the most beautiful city. One of them made a city that shone silver under the sun and moonlight, and they called it Srebrenik. The old town of Srebrenik is a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is one of the best preserved symbols of the medieval state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The oldest written trace of this impressive city and fortress dates back to 1333, during the reign of the Bosnian Kotromanić dynasty, and the famous Charter granting title to the lands on the Pelješac Peninsula (in today's Croatia) to the Dubrovnik Republic.

Since its creation, Srebrenik held exceptional importance and was the target of numerous occupiers and their conquests. Today, it is an important proof of the continuity of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian statehood and one of the most important historical objects in the wider region.

The city of Srebrenik is well connected to the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the vicinity of the Tuzla International Airport as well as neighbouring Croatia makes it easily accessible to visitors.

The city of Srebrenik and Gradina, the medieval fortress where the first Bosnian king Tvrtko Kotromanić was born, transcend the borders of the Tuzla Canton and are, not without reason, the true beauty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
